Circling the Well: Practicing Nonviolent Communication

An Online Event — Sunday, November 12, 2023, 10 am – 12 pm

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a communication tool that attempts to first increase compassion and interconnection in a conversation. NVC offers a resource to reconnect us to the needs behind our own and other people’s behavior, even in the most difficult of interactions. Connecting to our own experience and knowing what is deeply important to us, is the well we draw from when we practice NVC. By making a clear observation, contacting what we feel and need, and offering a request, we widen our view and open the capacity to be in dialogue with others. Connection with self leads to connection with the world. Come join us and be supported in this exploration.

Barbara Bash is an artist and communication facilitator who has been exploring and practicing NVC for many years. She has led practice groups and workshops in buddhist communities, arts centers and prisons. Barbara attended the NVC intensive in the West Bank in 2017 with Palestinians and Israelis in dialogue and experienced the space of holding two truths. For more information her website is barbarabash.com.
