For those just beginning to explore the path of meditation and as well as all of those who are mature enough on that path to know that the most basic teachings are also the most profound and helpful to return to over and over again.

This course will be based on the book, When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice For Difficult Times, by Pema Chödrön.

There are times when our capacity to manage our world is cut to the bone by situations beyond our control. For many of us, these past months have been such a time, one of the most challenging of times in modern history.  With a deadly virus ravaging globally, civic and political unrest, the isolation of quarantine, a dangerously unstable economy and unprecedented levels of unemployment and finance duress, things have indeed fallen apart! The depth of uncertainty and disruption threatens our ability to maintain a sane view and for many of us a sense of panic and depression is all pervasive. But if we succumb to feelings of hopelessness we will only contribute further to the turmoil. There is another option. Rather than giving in to the sense that our demise is inevitable, we can embody the sanity and joy that is needed to uplift ourselves and others in the midst of such troubling times. This is exactly the message presented by Pema Chödrön in her classic book, When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice for Difficult Times. In this meditation course we will explore her instructions on how to tap into the vulnerability at the core of our being that is actually the source of the very strength, courage and kindness that are needed to transform our world.

Please order your own copy of the book; we will cover approximately two chapters per class.  The Publisher--Shambhala Publications--has generously offered a 20% discount for anyone taking this course! The discount code will be provided in your registration confirmation.

*If you are offering by class or can’t afford to make any offering please use “guests” in the registration type or contact us by email here to get the code.
