A WMC advanced-level course
This spring we exploreKarma: What It Is, What It Isn’t, and Why It Matters, by Traleg Kyabgon.
The Buddha’s teaching on karma is his compassionate explanation of the way things are: our thoughts and actions determine our future, and therefore we ourselves are largely responsible for the way our lives unfold. This supremely useful teaching is often ignored due to the misconceptions found in popular culture. Karma is not simple, as Traleg Kyabgon,Rinpoche shows, and he lights the way to our clear understanding.
Rinpoche cuts through the illusions we cling to about karma to show what it really is—the mechanics of why we suffer and how we can make the suffering end. He shows how a realistic appreciation of karma is fundamental to our practice, how it provides a foundation for a moral life, and how understanding it can have a transformative effect on the way we relate to ourselves and the world around us.
Participation in this advanced course requires completion of WMC's year-long Profound Treasury series, or equivalent study and practice. Questions about this requirement can be addressed to Gene Bobker by using this link gene@westchestermeditationcenter.org
We are committed to making our programs affordable to all, and we endeavor to set the course fee at a rate that covers necessary expenses. We rely on donations to cover additional program costs. Please consider offering an additional amount to offset program expenses. Thank you for your contribution.
Those with limited income please note the student/fixed income option.
