This intermediate course, The Profound Treasury Series, Semester 4, is a continuation of last year’s course, The Path of Individual Liberation. For the fall, participants are invited to complete volume one of The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma (PTOD), The Path of Individual Liberation, and start volume two of The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, The Bodhisattva Path of Wisdom and Compassion. We are delighted to welcome back PTOD participants for the fourth semester.

PTOD, Volume One: The Path of Individual Liberation

We will resume with Parts Five and Six, as we pursue further understanding of the Three Yana Journey. Our first reading and discussion will be the Shravakayana (the Yana of Hearing and Proclaiming) and the Pratyekabuddhayana (the Yana of Individual Salvation.) We will examine the Lesser, Middle, and Greater Path of Accumulation.  Finally, we will conclude Volume One with the study of Knowledge or Prajna, through a detailed look at the nature of ego. There will be a review/celebration class to conclude Volume One before we segue into Volume Two.

PTOD Volume Two: The Bodhisattva Path of Wisdom and Compassion

In teaching about the three stages of the path, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche presented each stage as having its own integrity and power. We now begin the Mahayana path of inseparable wisdom and compassion, balancing our individual training with service to others. Our studies for the remainder of this term will include Awakening the Heart, Discovering Buddha Nature, Nurturing the Ground, Provoking Wakefulness, and Making A Commitment.

"The foundational teachings of the Buddhist path have never been presented so completely, accessibly, and compassionately."— Pema Chödrön

"Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche had a particular genius in presenting the Dharma to Western audiences."—H.H. the Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje

"One of the most remarkable and brilliant teachers of modern times." —Jack Kornfield

**Participation in this course requires completion of our Foundation Course, The Way of the Buddha, or an equivalent experience with Buddhist practice and study. For this intermediate-level course, enrollment is by semester and requires a commitment to attend all or most class sessions.
