Due to special circumstances, we have decided to open up the last semester of our course on the Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma Volume One-The Path of Individual Liberation to all who are interested.

This section of the book presents three important aspects of the path of meditation: insight, wisdom, and the path. The first section is an in-depth presentation of the practice of Vipashyana, or insight, meditation in the Mahayana tradition. This is literally the most extensive and thorough presentation of this often-misunderstood phase of meditation practice that can be found anywhere in print. The second section is the result of meditation, which is the wisdom of understanding the Four Noble Truths in their full profundity. This fundamental scheme forms the framework for every aspect of all traditions of Buddhism. Here Rinpoche presents the full details of the Four Noble Truths, which reveal their practical application. The third and the final section of the book is a thorough presentation of the detailed stages of the path as presented in the Hinayana vehicle of the three yana path of Tibetan Buddhism. While the details of the path often focus on the advance and distant stages that most of us find unrelatable, here Rinpoche focuses primarily on the first stages, which is helpful in clarifying specific qualities we should be cultivating and experiences we might expect to encounter. While it would be best if participants interested in this course had a strong foundation in general Buddhist understanding and a mature and regular meditation practice, we are inviting anyone interested to join us in studying this provocative material.
